Do you want to know sure-fire and effective ways to get rid of cellulite?
Looking at our dimply, saggy, and cellulite-ridden legs (and even arms) in the mirror especially when the light hits us just so can be terribly depressing. The good news is, things don’t have to stay that way. You CAN get rid of cellulite and it doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg. All you need is persistence and determination.
Here are 12 ways we’ve put together on how you can effectively get rid of cellulite.
Eat a clean and unprocessed diet
You’ve always heard of people complaining about cellulite, but do you know what it actually is? Cellulite is fat that has been trapped and has bulged in little compartments underneath our skin. Cellulite grows with toxins that we accumulate in our bodies.
Eating a healthy diet is a great start at battling cellulite and drawing out toxins. Alkaline forming foods are the best candidates to help rid your body of cellulite. These leave alkaline ash in your body that draws out toxic matter from your body so they can be flushed out.
Eat fresh fruits and vegetables, as their rich alkalinity will draw out the most toxins from your body. Even better, you can try juicing organic fruits and vegetables to flood your body with alkaline.
The next time you want to satisfy a sweet tooth with a cupcake, pick up an apple instead. Switch out the large fries for sweet potato chips. Small changes like these will go a long way to keeping cellulite at bay.
The next time you want to pick up a Diet Coke to quench your thirst, give yourself a reality check and remind yourself how many packets of sugar that Coke actually has. Drink water instead.
Water is your best bet when it comes to removing toxins from your body. Another advantage is that it keeps your body hydrated, giving you that glowing, healthy look.
Start your morning right by drink a whole glass of water. Follow it up with up to eight more glasses during the day which will provide you with all the water you’ll need to flush out toxins in your body.
If you’re not too fond of the lack of taste of water, try adding some lemon or honey to sweeten it naturally. You could also eat fruits and vegetables with higher water content, like watermelons, melons, or cucumbers to supplement your fluid intake.
Dry brush your skin
Stimulate your lymph nodes and let your blood flow naturally with the aid of dry brushing. This is a method that effectively sloughs away dry skin and opens up your pores, and is something that you should do at least once daily.
Here are a few tips for effective dry brushing.
- First, brush dry only! You can do this before you turn on the shower. Use a brush with only natural bristles, which should be stiff enough but not too hard as to hurt your skin.
- Brush in long, repeated sweeps towards your heart, starting at your feet and moving upwards. Brush in a counterclockwise motion on your stomach. Brush enough that skin is stimulated, but not irritated.
Dry brushing not only tightens your skin; it also helps your system flush out toxins and give you a glowing complexion that no makeup could ever fake.
Pro-tip: You know you’re doing dry skin brushing right when you physically feel good during and after brushing. You may either feel a tingling sensation or even a heart-pounding invigorating feeling like you’ve just finished a run. This is your blood and lymph circulating throughout your body.
